Since I’ve had an ostomy.
Many things occur to me.
I take each problem as they come.
Then try my best to solve each one.
A blockage is the kind of thing.
That my ostomy might bring.
It’s hard to know what causes it.
The ostomy or lumps of shit.
As I like to keep control.
I put my finger in the hole.
And as my finger moves about.
I know my stoma inside out.
I had this pain and I was yelling.
For I found a fair sized swelling.
That was the blockage just inside.
So I pushed it to one side.
Then to keep it nice and snug.
I used my normal osto-
Although these efforts are futile.
At least the pain went for a while.
But we all know that chronic pain.
Simply comes right back again.
Now I know what is involved.
I know the problem is not solved.
But when the pain is monumental.
Doing nothing’s detrimental.
But long before the surgeon acts.
I want to weigh up all the facts.
The lump that’s there and causes strife.
Eventually will need the knife.
But in those times when pain is gone.
I feel that I should soldier on.
